    Chairman PFF NC Haroon Malik visits Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry

    Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee(NC), Haroon Malik visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). He was warmly received by President SCCI Abdul Ghafoor Malik, Senior Vice President (SVP) Wahub Jahangir, Vice President (VP) SCCI Amer Majeed Sheikh and President Sialkot Football Association Chaudhry Muhammad Ikhlaq.

    During the visit, discussions were held regarding promoting football in Sialkot, a city renowned for its export-oriented economy and contributions to Pakistan’s international trade.

    Chairman Haroon Malik expressed his honor in visiting the Sialkot Chamber and highlighted the initiatives to enhance football activities in the region. He said that the PFF, in collaboration with the Sialkot Football Association plans to organize regional and provincial-level tournaments in Sialkot soon. Additionally, he mentioned that preparations are underway to establish a football academy in Sialkot, which aims to nurture local talent and further promote the sport in the city.

    President SCCI Abdul Ghafoor Malik commended Chairman Haroon Malik for the PFF’s efforts in promoting football across the nation. He also praised the national football team’s performance in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and the successful organization of the qualifier matches in Pakistan as a manifestation of the Federation’s effective leadership.

    Chairman PFF NC Haroon Malik also visited Forwards Sports in Sialkot, where he was warmly welcomed by Chief Executive Forwards Sports Khawaja Masood Akhtar. During the visit, Khawaja Masood provided Chairman NC Haroon Malik with a tour of the office and presented him with a souvenir.

    Islamabad: The leading javelin thrower of Pakistan got 4th position in Paris Diamond League yesterday. Arshad threw the javelin to a distance of 74.11 meters, gradually finding his rhythm. He significantly improved with subsequent throws: his second attempt measured 80.28 meters, and his third soared to 82.71 meters, placing him among the top contenders. Despite a valiant effort in the fifth round, where Nadeem threw 84.21 meters, it was insufficient to reclaim a podium position, leaving him in fourth place.

    Arshad is the only hope for pakistan in the upcoming Paris Olympics so all spectators around the world are focusing his performance.

    Khurram Shehzad Awan: India win the T20 cricket world cup 2024 after defeating South Africa by 7 runs in a nail biting contest at Kensington Oval Barbados West Indies on Saturday.

    Virat Kohli declares man of the match as he scored 76 runs in a big match while on the other hand South Africa performed very well to achieve the target of 177. Klaasen and De kock scored 52 and 39 runs accordingly but unfortunately they lost the match. South Africa needed 26 runs in 4 overs and had 5 wickets in the hand but after the dismissal of Klaasen on 52 runs South Africa went on back foot and became under pressure. Indian bowlers did tremendous job and bowled very well specially Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya didnt allow the Aftrican batsman to achieve the target and at the end indian won the match by 7 runs and become the world T20 champion after 17 years. In 2007 India won the T20 world cup first time after defeating Pakistan.

    VIRAT KOHLI AND ROHIT SHARMA RETIREMENT: Indian legend super star Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announces retirement from International T20 format after winning the T20 world cup 2024. They both are considered to be the best players of Indian team. Virat Kohli served India in 125 T20 matches and scored 4188 runs with the average of 48.69 and made one century and 58 half centuries his highest score was 122.

    Rohit Sharma is the winning captain of Indian cricket team . He represented India in 159 T20 matches and scored 4231 runs with the average of 32. Rohit Sharma scored 5 centuries and 32 half centuries in T20 format.

    The Championship Finals of Boys & Girls were played today.  Mr Duncan Chiu, Secretary General of Asian Squash Federation graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and awarded trophies and medals to the players.  Air Marshal Kazim Hammad, Senior Vice President PSF along with Squash legend Mr Qamar Zaman, VP PSF Mr Adnan Asad and number of players and officials also attended the ceremony.

    The final results of the event is as under:

    Boys U-13.   Sohail Adnan (Pak) bt Huzaifa Shahid (Pak) 12-10, 12-10, 5-11, 4-11, 11-8. Sohail won Gold Medal and Huzaifa got Silver.

    Boys U-15.   Shiven Agarwal (IND) bt Muhammad Raziq Puttra (MAS) 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 13-11. Shiven won Gold Medal and Raziq got Silver.

    Boys U-17.   Nikhelswar (MAS) bt Abdullah Nawaz (Pak) 9-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-6.  Nikhelswar won Gold Medal and Abdullah got Silver.  

    Boys U-19.   Muhammad Hamza Khan (Pak) bt Harith Danial (MAS) 11-5, 12-10, 11-9.  Hamza won Gold Medal and Harith got Silver.

    Girls U-13.       Aadya Budhia (IND) bt Goushika (IND) 11-5, 11-5, 11-4. Aadya won Gold Medal and Gouhika got Silver.

    Girls U-15.     Harleein Tan (MAS) bt Lo Pui Yin Chloe (HKG) 11-8, 11-4, 11-6.  Harleen won Gold Medal and Lo Pui got Silver.

    Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is organizing Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship, 2024 between 25 – 30 June, 24 at Islamabad for Boys & Girls U-13, 15, 17 and U-19 age categories. Squash contingents from Hong Kong-China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Macau-China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore and Sri Lanka have turned up.  

    The Semi Finals of Boys & Girls were played today.  Results of matches are appended below:

    Boys U-13.      In the 1st Semi Final, Sohail Adnan (Pak) bt Mohammad Iffat Zulkifli (MAS)  by 11-8, 11-6,         11-2 whereas in the 2nd Semi Final, Huzaifa Shahid (Pak) bt Julius Tan (MAS) by 11-2, 11-8, 11-5.

    Boys U-15.      In the 1st Semi Final, Muhammad Raziq Puttra (MAS) bt Abdullah Zaman (Pak) by 11-7, 11-8, 11-6 whereas in the 2nd Semi Final, Shiven Agarwal (IND) bt Nouman Khan (Pak) by  5-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-0.

    Islamabad: The 31st Asian Junior Squash Championship 2024 will start today, June 25, Tuesday, in which 301 male and female players from 12 countries are participating. Last day, Pakistan Squash Federation Vice President Qamar Zaman, Director Academies Irfan Asghar, Addressing the press conference along with Junaid Shafqat, Marketing Director of Sarina Hotel, Air Commodore R. Amir Nawaz, Secretary of Pakistan Squash Federation, said that the Asian Individual Squash Championship will start from today at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad. The final of the championship will be played on June 29. will go A contingent of 301 male and female players and officials from 12 countries are participating in the championship. It includes 107 male players and 84 female players, besides 36 officials and 44 players’ parents.

    Players from India, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Korea, Qatar, Iran, Singapore, Philippines and Macau will participate in the championship. Pakistani players won gold and silver medals in the 30th championship. 24 boys and 19 girls from Pakistan are participating in the championship.

    5TH WORLD NOMAD GAMES STARTS FROM SEPTEMBER 8 AT ASTANA KAZAKHSTAN

    Khurram Shehzad: 5th world nomad games are going to start at Astana (Kazakhstan) from 8 September to 13 September 2024.

    According to tentative estimates, about 3,000 participants from more than 100 countries will arrive in Astana to take part in 7-day competitions both in sports arenas and in cultural and scientific programs.

    The 5th WNG infrastructure includes 6 metropolitan facilities: Astana Arena Stadium, Kazanat Racetrack, Wrestling Palace named after Zh.Ushkempirov, Alau Ice Palace, Qazaqstan Athletic Sports Complex, Duman complex.

    Horse racing competitions, traditional archery and national types of hunting with birds, as well as horse riding competitions will be held at the Kazanat racetrack and on the territory of Ethnoaul. The Wrestling Palace named after Zh.Ushkempirov and Alau Ice Palace will host competitions in national types of wrestling, martial arts and folk games, and traditional intellectual games will be held in the Duman complex. The Qazaqstan Athletics Sports Complex will house the WNG Accreditation and Equipment Centers.

    The main site for the implementation of the WNG cultural program will be the Universe of Nomads, Ethno-village (Ethno-Aul), which is located on the territory of 10 hectares adjacent to the Kazanat race course in the south-western side, as well as activities within the cultural program will be additionally held at various venues of Astana (city squares, parks, public gardens, other public spaces, theaters, concert halls, cinemas, museums, exhibition halls, etc.).

    The Opening Ceremony culminates with a speech by the Head of State, who will officially announce the opening of the Games.

    The Сlosing Сeremony of the 5th World Nomad Games will take place at the Central Kazanat Racetrack immediately after the final match of the finalist teams of the Kokpar tournament. The parade of participants will take place in the format of a common team, symbolizing the cohesion of athletes who have become one family during the Games. The 5th World Nomad Games in Astana will be held under the motto “The Gathering of the Great Steppe”.

    WSF world masters squash championship starts from 15 August at Amsterdam

    KHURRAM SHEHZAD: The Netherlands will host the WSF World Masters Squash Championships in 2024. The best male and female players over 35 years of age will compete at the Frans Otten Stadion.

    Championship will start from 15 August 2024 and ends on 22 August at Amsterdam (Netherlands). The World Masters history is not long, but certainly illustrious. It was 1991 when the first global tournament purely for mature age players was held in Auckland, New Zealand. From there on, it came a long way.
    Suffice it to say that in the 2018 edition of the biennial event, in Charlottsville (USA), there were 755 players from 59 nations competing.
