    Sportsnaama Report:: The Opening Ceremony and Media Brief of 28th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship, scheduled from 08 Aug 24 to 11 Aug 24, was held at the picturesque Karachi Golf Club (KGC). Commander Karachi, Rear Admiral Muhammad Saleem graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the championship. During the media brief, Patron Pakistan Navy Golf (South), Cdre Rashid Mahmood Sheikh apprised the audience on salients of championship and its conduct in various categories.

    The Golf Championship will be played in Professionals, Senior Professionals, Junior Professionals, Amateurs, Seniors, Veterans, Ladies Juniors and Pro Amateurs categories. The media was also briefed on the awards and cash prizes in various categories of the championship. A special prize of ‘Toyota Fortuner’ will be awarded to the player scoring ‘Hole in One’.

    Pakistan Navy instituted Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship at Karachi Golf Club (KGC) in 1995 to add a national level golf event in the calendar of Pakistan Golf Federation. Ever since, it has become a regular and major event of national golf circuit. Such events provide a unique opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s positive image to world as a peace and sports loving nation and also promote healthy activities in society. The regular conduct of this event is the manifestation of PN’s commitment towards promotion of golf at national and international levels.

    The Opening Ceremony was attended by sponsors, golf players and media representatives.

    KHURRAM SHEHZAD AWAN: The current political crisis in Bangladesh can affect the scheduled International Cricket Council (ICC) women T20 world cup scheduled to be held hosted in Bangladesh from 3 October to 20 October this year.

    The Political scenario in Bangladesh was totally changed after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid, who fled away to India for exile after the huge protest of the students in the Capital Dhaka. The political condition of Bangladesh is not suitable for the international events so ICC should stare on this important matter and must change the venue of the big event to the other country. All the cricket boards have serious concerns about this situation so the change of venue is the only solution left for the ICC to conduct the mega contest.

    The 9th edition of the ICC T20 Women world cup is scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh , in this event 10 countries are taking part which divided into two groups. Group A comprised Pakistan, India, Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand whereas Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa and West Indies are included in Group B.

    Sportsnaama Report: The legend squash star of Pakistan Nasir Iqbal won Bega Open Squash Championship in Australia on 04 August, 2024 after defeating  Matthew Lai with a score of 11-6,11-1 and 11-3.

    In the final match with Hong Kong player Matthew Lai , Iqbal secured a 11-6,11-1 and 11-3 victory to win his 17th career title win along with the prize money of $12,000. The match last only 24 minutes .Nasir Iqbal has won four out of his last five tournaments and is now slated to take part in tournaments in Malaysia. Iqbal has been in tremendous form this year, climbing consistently in his PSA rankings and is currently ranked 116 in the WSF rankings.

    National Women’s Football Club Championship final round commences on August 2 in Islamabad

    Sportsnaama Report: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced the schedule of the final round of the National Women’s Football Club Championship 2024, set to take place from August 2 to August 10 at the Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad.

    The final round will feature the top eight teams that have made it through the preliminary stages, divided into two competitive groups:

    Group A: Karachi United WFC, JAFA WFC, Highlanders WFC, Hazara Quetta WFC

    Group B: Karachi City WFC, Diya WFC, Legacy WFC, TWK WFC

    The group stage will run from August 2 to 7, with all matches will be played at the Jinnah Sports Complex. The winners and runners-up from each group will advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled to be held on August 8. The championship will culminate in the final match on August 10 at the Jinnah Football Stadium.

    Republic of Korea’s Joo Young Na recorded a stunning upset against defending champion and No.2 seed Hamza Khan to become the first ever Korean to reach the semi-finals of the WSF World Junior Squash Championships. after loosin the first two games in a row Khan comes back and won the two games consecutively and level the match with 2-2. In the fifth and final game , Na gathered his compusutre fantastically and won the game by 11-5 and reached in the semifinal. after winnig the thrilling contest Na said

    Khurram Shehzad Awan: Spain defeated England by 2-1 in the final of UEFA Euro championship at Berlin (Germany) on Sunday, 14 July 2024 and become the first team who won the title for the forth time.

    The final was nail biting contest as the first half went without any goal as both the teams attacked each others post but all in vain. In the 47th minutes Nico Williams scored first goal for Spain and took the lead by 1-0 but in the 73th minutes Cole Palmer scored the goal for England and level the contest with 1-1. Spain continued attack on the English post and got the success on the 86th minutes when Mike Oyarzabel scored the goal for Spain which last at the end of the game and Spain become the champion for the forth time.

    England lost the second consecutive final of EURO CUP which is also a remarkable performance.
